Meeting the Moment
Hosted by:
Leadership at the Speed of Science is a collaboration between Cortical Consulting & Coaching and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, combining cutting-edge neuroscience with deep expertise in leadership and organizational performance. This summit explores what it means to lead in a world that’s moving faster, is more complex, and asking more of its leaders. Leadership has always evolved but today it’s being stretched in entirely new ways. That is why this Summit matters now!
Leadership doesn’t just happen in strategy decks or in meetings, it happens in real time, under stress, and in moments that demand clarity and composure.
At Leadership at the Speed of Science, we’ll explore how emerging insights from neuroscience and behavioural research can help leaders navigate stress, make better decisions, and perform more sustainably. Just as astronauts and elite athletes rely on science to lead under pressure, this summit brings that same perspective to leadership in business, government, energy, healthcare and beyond.
This summit is designed for that leadership edge:
- Where performance meets pressure
- Where clarity gets tested
- Where leadership breaks through, not breaks down
About the Hosts
Leadership at the Speed of Science is spearheaded by Cortical Consulting & Coaching, in collaboration with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary.
Cortical Consulting & Coaching is a Calgary-based firm specializing in organizational and team effectiveness, change management, leadership development, coaching, and performance. With deep experience working across industries locally and internationally, Cortical helps businesses drive sustainable results through practical, neuroscience-informed strategies. Their work equips leaders to better understand and lead through decision-making under pressure, managing change and elevating leadership performance.
HBI is a global leader in brain and mental health research, advancing our understanding of how the brain functions under pressure, stress, and change. Within HBI, the Mental Health Initiative for Stress and Trauma (MIST) explores how emotional stress and physical trauma impact the brain, affecting mental health conditions and psychiatric illnesses. MIST also emphasizes public education about stress, brain trauma, and emotional health, building a community dedicated to destigmatizing mental health challenges.
Together, Cortical and HBI are creating space for an important conversation — one that brings science perspectives and business experience into dialogue to explore what leadership demands today.
