Duff Gibson was involved with high performance sport for over 25 years beginning in 1989 when he moved to Calgary to get his Master’s degree in Kinesiology. As an athlete, Duff was World Champion in 2004 and Olympic Champion at the Torino Games in 2006 in the sport of skeleton. As a coach, Duff led eight different athletes to a top four finish or higher at the world level. Having moved on from coaching, he founded Dark Horse Athletic in 2016 which is a kids’ multi-sport program designed to foster a growth mindset and inspiring kids to participate for the love of sport. In 2021, Duff published his first book entitled, The Tao of Sport: Reflecting on Purpose, Passion, and Growth from a Hotbed of High Performance. Duff lives with his wife Jen and sons Geddy and Taye in Calgary and is a Captain with the Calgary Fire Department.
